In collaboration with the National Network for Oral Health Access (NNOHA), this National Center for Equitable Care for Elders (NCECE) webinar will focus on an evidence-based approach to effectively manage older adults’ oral health needs relative to the complexity of their medical histories and cognitive impairments. Participants will consider patient-centered communication techniques to better anticipate dental challenges and develop a supportive care plan in response.

Understand frailty among older adults and its connection to oral health and related behaviors
Describe the Seattle Care Pathway’s defined levels of dependency in older patients
Identify how members of the healthcare team can utilize the Seattle Care Pathway to help improve the oral health status of older adults.
Consider promising practices from a health center implementation of an older adult dental program
